The approximately 5-mile Clark Lake
Spirit Trail, dedicated to the
memory of Tom Collins, late owner of
the Beach Bar, is open to the
public. It goes the entire
circumference of Clark Lake. Walkers
and bikers may park at the county
park on Ocean Beach Road or the
Columbia Township Park on Hyde Road.

67-acre nature area offers a forest
area, wetlands and open areas.
Located in the Sharon Short Hills
area, this hilly terrain is ideal
for cross-country skiing. Open to
the public for bird-watching,
cross-country skiing and walking.
Some sections of the trail pass
through dense older forests. Others
pass through remnant oak savanna and
tall-grass prairie. The trails in
this preserve are marked with white
triangles as they pass over sandy
and rocky glacial deposits. |

This park, the first county-owned
park in Southwest Washtenaw County,
was restored by Henry Ford in the
1930s. The Mill, most recently used
as a winery, was constructed in 1835
and is listed on both the state and
national Register of Historic
Spaces. The County is currently
developing the 6.3 acre site,
located on the River Raisin, and
will include a museum with
interpretive programs, fishing and
picnic areas and canoeing. |

east-west component of the Jackson
County Regional Trail plan,
connecting Cascades, Ella Sharp,
Lime Lake and Swains Lake parks in
south-central Michigan’s Jackson
County with the city of Jackson. The
Trail has been dedicated as a
Jackson County Park. |

Lake Hudson Recreation Area has
2,796 acres of recreational
opportunities around Lake Hudson.
The park, which lies in southeast
Michigan, offers premier muskie
fishing and game hunting. The
terrain is gently rolling with a
mixture of open brush land to mature
hardwood forest, with some pockets
of open meadows mixed in. A new
beach area provides an excellent
place for sunbathing and swimming. |
